Vyacheslav Turyanytsya

Vyacheslav Turyanytsya began his filmmaking journey in Uzhhorod, Ukraine, where he collaborated with filmmakers from Kyiv on Philip Sotnychenko's debut feature La Palisiada (nominated for Discovery - Prix FIPRESCI at EFA). He joined the film company Contemporary Ukrainian Cinema in 2020. He holds a master's degree from the Director's Faculty of Kyiv National Ivan Karpenko-Kary University of Theatre, Cinema and Television. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Film studies. During the onset of the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, Vyacheslav and producer Inna Lastochkina, made his student short film Kharkiv Music Fest Did Happen in 2022. The film received a Special Mention in Directing at the Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2024 Vyacheslav wrote and directed the short film Thoughts on Peace in an Air Raid. The extracts of it were presented at Cinéma de Demain - SFC | Rendez-vous Industry - Focus WiP 2024.
