WE MAKE HOME MOVIES, THEREFORE WE ARE

CLARA JÄSCHKE

2022 Germany DOC 10 '

In this film I showcase the tradition of my family, who has been recording their everyday life ever since starting with a Super 8 camera in the 1960s. They inspired me to start “vlogging” – capturing my life on video – as well. At the same time, I wonder if there is any point in collecting all these recordings in a world of digital flood. A meditation on home movies, vlogging and the power of ennui.
