Marie-Christine, who lost her sight some years ago, explores life in a particularly sensory way—through her fingertips. Through her personal experience, she arouses her son's curiosity and sense of wonder about the beauty of the universe. Drawing from a constellation of highly textured analogue images and a rich tapestry of sound, Orbit journeys into the sensorial depths of Marie-Christine's memory, pondering the very essence of love and legacy.
Sarah Seené is a Montreal-based photographer and filmmaker whose work explores vulnerability through intimacy and transformation. Working primarily with analogue image-making, she creates poetic and sensory works in which personal experiences resonate beyond the individual. Her photographic work has been exhibited at the Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent, the Biennale de Photographie en Condroz, Revela'T Festival and the Vintage Photo Festival, where her series Radical Corollas was awarded the Second Grand Prize. Her films have screened at festivals including Sheffield DocFest, Ann Arbor Film Festival, Filmfest Dresden, REGARD, Festival du nouveau cinéma and Uppsala Short Film Festival. Her latest film, Orbites, received the Canadian Grand Prize and the FIPRESCI International Critics' Prize at REGARD. She is currently developing her next film, Bleu azur.
