Three women, alone in their rooms, perform intimate rituals of makeup and self-creation. As their voices reveal memories, secrets, and desires, their inner worlds echo far beyond the walls that contain them. Intercut with glimpses of the city, the film explores lives that unfold side by side—parallel, resonant, and never quite meeting—tracing the universal within the deeply personal.
Lucia Martinez Garcia (b. 1994) is a Swiss filmmaker, video artist, and editor, living and working between Geneva and Paris. Her work moves between experimental fiction and documentary, exploring intimate narratives, transforming bodies, affective relationships, and the spaces her protagonists inhabit. Often working with non-professionals, she allows fiction to emerge from the folds of reality, revealing stories that are minimal yet essential. Her films navigate a delicate balance between poetic atmosphere and grounding in the real, always carrying a sense of the unspeakable, where light, body, and movement become vectors of sensory experience. They have been presented at festivals such as Locarno, Visions du Réel, Entrevues Belfort, Palm Springs International Film Festival, DocLisboa, and Côté Court, as well as in art spaces including the Centre d’Art Contemporain de Genève and the Fondation Ricard in Paris. The hybridity of her projects lies at the heart of her practice: fiction, documentary, and installation coexist, allowing her work to move freely between cinema and art spaces, offering viewers immersive and sensorial experiences.
