Coils, crackling and flickering light reflections. A distorted violin meets fragments of memory. An audiovisual kaleidoscope of photos and VHS recordings illuminates the gaps in the family narrative and distorts memories.

Katharina Mänz

Katharina Mänz is an artist and filmmaker based in Leipzig, working at the intersection of documentary film, performance, and experimental video. The work explores perception through hybrid narrative forms, combining documentary and performative approaches. Katharina Mänz holds a BA in Performing Arts from the University of Hildesheim and an MA in Media Art and Design from Bauhaus University Weimar. The short film Porous (2022) has been screened at events including the SAR Conference for Artistic Research and the Athens Digital Arts Festival. Death Left: Lynx (2025) was developed within PMMC 2024 in co-direction with Lucie Friederike Mueller and screened at the 29th Cinemambiente Torino Film Festival.
