PRIVATE COLLECTION: PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

SÉRGIO LEITÃO | PAULO PINTO  | BIBI DÓRIA | ECE CANLI

FREE ENTRANCE / LIMITED CAPACITY

In this cycle of performances, artists are challenged to explore performativity from archival material - personal or not - or from memory problematizing. The result is a set of performative proposals in its expanded values (interdisciplinary, spatial displacements, thematic displacements). As the intimacies and familiarities are problematized, creative possibilities are projected crossing disciplines and borders, reinforcing, within the event-festival, the fine line between the real and the performative.

BIOGRAFIA

Visual artist. His projects explore connections between multiple fields of study, articulating images, sounds and objects within the conception of a singular poetic imaginary. By combining the produced and collected elements, directed to a place of intersection between different narratives, his works aim to create spaces in which borders between reality and fiction dissolve. They’ve been frequently materialized into contextual installations that cross the languages of painting, sculpture and video. And autonomous pieces in various supports, interventions in public spaces and performances.

PALHA ENCANTADA: ALEGORIA DE UM ESPÍRITO ESQUECIDO

PAULO PINTO

In the throbbing of an ancestral memory, the performer seeks emotional references in the real/fictitious creative transit that proposes a work clothing from northern Portugal. The straw material, present in various ordinary/ numerous rituals of knowledge/doing, in diverse cultures, is used as a device of discoveries shooted by the artist’s body, which by the deviations of survival had to abandon dance as a vocation. Spirits of Amerindian and AfricanAmerican people inspire the awakening of a triad of enchanted to sew with the Lusitanian robe, awakening it from what was intended for it: the work that dismays the feast. Between the dance forgotten by a spirit and a forgotten body of the dance the straw flies.

COPACABANA MON AMOUR

OUBLIETTE

ECE CANLI

Oubliette is a performance event, a time warp taking place in the underground of an unfamiliar environment. The spectators’ bodies are immured in this unearthly, murky and viscous setting within a total memory lapse, incognizant of the context and the motives of their captivity. As the nuisance grows, the performer’s bodyvoice, amplified by the sonic activation of the space, unfolds the metanarrative by stimulating a retrospective, introspective and oneiric remembrance in the times and places of oblivion.
