Britta Wandaogo - filmmaker. She studied communication design and photojournalism at the university of wuppertal from 1990 till 1995. In 1998 she postgraduate in documentary films at the academy of media arts in cologne. In 2000 she started up her own film company wandaogo productions. Her award winning film work is complemented by installations and audio-visual contributions to various exhibitions. Following teaching assignments in the departments of design and media at the Düsseldorf University of applied sciences, Britta Wandaogo was appointed professor of audio-visual media there in 2010. In her documentary films Britta is dealing with subjects that she finds in her very close environment. This automatically includes a very personal and strong invol-vement on the filmmaker’s part. It is that certain privacy that at the same time is never getting too close which gives the observer a unique insight into the protagonists lives.
