The human race has long searched for meaningful interpersonal connections. Tools and technologies have made it easier to reach out and share ideas but each presents a new unforeseen challenge. We must always ask: “is this what we want? What do we want?”

Yang-Fang Shen is a visual artist and storyteller. Born in Taipei Taiwan trained as a painter and immersed in East Asian arts for over 20 years ying-fang shen is very much intrigued by metaphorical communication, which strongly influences her creation of sequential arts. Her recent works falls within the fields of painting illustration and animation. Many of them draw upon human nature and gravitate toward related subjects and characters. Shen’s works have been exhibited in europe asia north and south america and have received acclaim in cities including annecy Chicago, New York, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Taipei, Vancouver, Bali, Berlin, Guam, among many others. Ying-fang shen is currently a faculty of Virginia Commonwealth University (U.S.A.).
