Franz Maria Quitt
A short film about the work ritual of a tyrolean farm boy and his grandfather.
Franz Maria Quitt is an actor and director from Vienna, Austria. He moved to New York in 2008 to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After graduating 2010, film roles included: supporting in THE PROFESSOR, 2012, Golden Eagle Award winning short film, starring Betsy Brandt (BREAKING BAD); co-lead in CHICKEN, 2011, Cape Fear Best Short Film Award winner. Theater roles: co-lead in FIVE FINGER EXERCISE, 2011, directed by Shirley Knight, part of FTP's official Sir Peter Shaffer celebration; supporting in PROFESSOR BERNHARDI, 2012, directed by the Tony Award nominated Marvell Rep Theater company. As a director, he filmed his literary and directorial debut MOTHER, 2014, in New York and Texas, starring Darlene Cates from WHAT'S EATING GILBERT GRAPE. He returned to Vienna 2015 to shoot EISENHERZ (Official Selection at film festivals, such as, 20th Flickers’ Rhode Island International, 22nd Palm Springs International, and 29th Foyle Film Festival) and to apply to the Film Akademie in Vienna. He is one of three directing students to have been accepted. KALB is one of his application films.
