Papirosen
gastón solnicki
Fashioning nearly 200 hours of footage shot over a decade into a family portrait at once epic and intimate. Digging into the family archives and incorporating the musings of his grandmother, Pola, a Holocaust survivor, Solnicki crafts a deeply affecting meditation on the meaning of family and the weight of history.
Born in Buenos Aires in 1978. He studied cooking and then changed his path to continue his studies in New York at the International Center of Photography and the Tisch School of the Arts, where he received his BFA in Film. Suden (2008), his debut feature is followed by Papirosen (2011).
