A short film about the invisibility of domestic violence. Whilst watching Super8 films about her seemingly idyllic German family life in the 1960s, the director’s grandmother Rose describes the reality of life with a violent husband.

ANNIKA Mayer studied Film Editing in Berlin and holds a PhD in social anthropology. In 2019 she co-founded Majmun Films to develop creative documentaries and short films. Annika produced and edited award-winning films which were screened at prestigious festivals like IFFR Rotterdam, Visions du Réel, DokLeipzig and Guanajuato International Film Festival. Annika’s debut as a director, Home Sweet Home was released in 2023. Rose is her debut short film.
